'Fair Lady' has the same playfield layout as Gottlieb's 1956 'Sea Belles'. The backglass carries Gottlieb's famous phrase: Amusement Pinballs, as American as Baseball and Hot Dogs! The Janus masks depicted on the backglass artwork and the illuminated marquee on the flyer together highlight the theatrical theme of this 1956 game. George Bernard Shaw's 1912 play 'Pygmalion' enjoyed success on Broadway as 'My Fair Lady' from 1956 to 1962 and as a Hollywood musical in 1964, winning an Academy Award for Best Picture. The success of the movie undoubtedly caused Gottlieb to revisit this story as Gottlieb's 1966 'Mayfair'.
