The Wizard of Oz (75th Anniversary)

Effective with software version 6.06, programmers Joe Katz and JT Harkey are credited on the backbox display. When the game is turned on, the backbox LCD title screen shows the full name of this game as "The Wizard of Oz 75th Anniversary". Ted Estes advised us that the manufacturer's pre-production flyers showed artist mock-ups of the game where the lower edge of the backglass indicated "75th Anniversary Limited Edition". A game exhibited at the 2013 International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo (IIAPA) in Orlando, Florida did display "Limited Edition" on its backglass. However, Ted said the word "Limited" was dropped from the name prior to the production start in 2014, and the production backglasses indicated "75th Anniversary Edition". We note the Model Number still retains a reference to "LE". Ted also told us the the manufacturer's in-house name for this game was the "Ruby Red Special Edition" although these words do not appear on the game. This model is advertised as having a limited production run of 1500 units. Each game will have a numbered plaque affixed to the game apron to be seen under the playfield glass. The manufacturer confirmed shipping began August 2014. Price when new: $9,000.00. An optional 'Invisiglass' playfield glass available for $250.00 extra.
